Parthenon is a temple of Athena the Virgin at Acropolis. This temple is a fascinating masterpiece designed by the great sculptor Phidias and the architect Iktinos. The roof is made of marble tiles and the optical refinements of the columns create a fantastic organic structure effect. Though most of the Parthenon is in ruins, you can envisage the predominantly Greek architectural marvel here.
Agora is situated to the north of Acropolis which is divided into three open areas namely Agora, market place of ancient Athenians, the Library of Hadrian and the Roman Agora. Tourists are advised to enter the north gate in order to get a good impression and detailed layout of Agora.
